Description of the regatta course

The regatta course of Linz-Ottensheim was constructed on an arm of the Danube in early 1972 before a hydroelectric power plant was
built.

The extension to an eight lane regatta course was completed in 2006. Since 1972 the regatta course of Linz-Ottensheim has been site for numerous international rowing regattas as well as the Austrian Rowing Championships.

The venue has hosted
-the World Rowing Junior Championships in 1998,
-the Rowing World Cup in 2007,
-the World Rowing Junior & Non-Olympic Senior Championships in 2008,
-the Nation’s Cup in 1990 and 2001.
